i have had a WONDERFUL [sarcastic] Friday; I thought I was about to kill anyone that said ‘Hi’ to me…
it all started with the coffee maker… it boiled over making coffee- twice. It did it once, covered the kitchen floor in coffee grounds and hot water- so i thought i figured out why it did it and fixed it… and made coffee again… and it boiled over again… but i figured out it was coffee grounds in the lid of the carafe, so i actually did fix it.. so- 45 minutes later i finally had coffee [and i usually am not very good without coffee].
after that i was already about 10 minutes late for work, so i decided to check my oil [i had a slow leak in one of my valve cover gaskets- i think it is fixed now; more on that later]. I pulled into the driveway, popped the hood and checked the oil- it was about a quart low so i added… i got back in the car and restarted it and my engine light came on; did i do something under the hood that may have done this? ‘engine lights’ are so vague- it could be anything from the air filter is obstructed to the engine is on fire; so i spent another 15 minutes looking at that…
So i finally left the house at 9:30 [the time I am supposed to be AT work]. I took the back roads as I did not know what was wrong with the car, so I didn’t want to take the chance of breaking down on the interstate… I got behind EVERY slow old bastard that was out on Friday morning; big old out-of-town Lincolns, garbage trucks, marta busses, etc. it also appears that Friday is an unannounced ‘don’t use your turn signals b/c everyone else should be a mind reader’ day… so it was a rough start.
Work was slammed; and i ended up spending 4 hours on a problem that it turns out i could not do anything with… Rob had to go in on Sunday morning and take care of it…
Then the teller at the Wachovia tells me ‘i cannot give you cash back- your account is new’ when i try to deposit my first check from TU [and my stock option check]. Ok, FINE- i will just go over to WaMu and deposit it there [old account i am trying to close] and then bring cash back to deposit in Trey’s account to pay the bills and mortgage.
<grumble, grumble- I hate banks; maybe I should buy some mason jars and bury all my money in the back yard like grandpa used to do.>
Did i also mention that i am getting sick… AGAIN? this flu has been going around work and mutating just enough to keep everyone pretty miserable since before Xmas.
That all aside, i opted out of going with Tracy dowm to Arcadia, FL this weekend- i just have too much to do.
I guess i just needed to vent; I feel a little better now… It was nothing all that major- just a cumulative combination of multiple things
